Squamish Arts Council Member Grants:  SACFund 2011/2012
 
Squamish Arts Council is very pleased to announce that SAC has received $10,000.00 from the District of Squamish for the 2nd annual SACFund Arts & Culture Grant Program. 
Squamish Arts Council invites all local arts & culture organizations to apply for SACFund for the purpose of promoting and expanding the arts in our community with arts and culture projects comparable to the goals and mandate of SAC.
Please find the SACFund grant application form attached, or visit www.squamishartscouncil.ca to download application.
Applicants are encouraged to bring forward projects that might not happen without SACFund support. 
Please be sure your SAC membership is current prior to submitting the grant application.  Applications must be postmarked by January 31, 2012. 
 
All 7 applicants of the SACFund 2010/2011 grant intake received funding, and  6 of those 7 groups received the full amount that they applied for. 
Recipients of the SACFund 2010/2011 grants include:  Howe Sound Performing Arts Association, Squamish International Folk Dancers, Between Shifts Theatre, Squamish Writers Group, Visuals, Squamish Days Loggers Sports Assoc., SERF.

NORTH SHORE ZONE OF THEATRE:   Festival of Plays

 Adjudicator John Cooper was presented with many high-calibre productions and fine performances during the week of theatre May 2-7 at Presentation House Theatre.  However, one production stood out above all others. Biloxi Blues by Neil Simon, presented by Deep Cove Stage Society, will now go forward to represent the North Shore Zone at Theatre BC’s MAINSTAGE, the drama festival which encompasses winning groups from throughout British Columbia, to be held this year in Kamloops, July 1-9, 2011 and will perform at the Sagebrush Theatre on Friday, July 8.

SAC has been working hard on behalf of all local Arts & Culture organizations
to ensure a strong and sustainable arts support system continues to be in place for the future 
Please participate in the process as we determine how to best distribute the 2nd intake of SACFund, by ensuring a 
representative from your organization attends the SAC Arts & Culture Community Funding Meeting on
Wednesday May 11, 2011, from 7:00 - 8:00 pm at the SAC Building in the park.
